This morning I was making french toast and smoothies at 5:55 as my boys left the house at 6:30 for school! Yup, the house was empty except for my husband who was working out (yeah!) and I realized it was go time for me as well.
Early morning workout completed, coffee, shower and dressed for the day.
The weather forecast is for hot weather but this morning felt a little like fall or maybe it’s just me feeling that way because it’s the first week of school! I happily put on a new pair of jeans I bought this week at American Eagle (yes, I love jeans!), my favorite twisted t-shirt and sandals to keep a little with a summer feel.
As a mom that works from home I need some sort of routine. Getting showered and dressed each morning gives me that and puts me into a work mindset.
Monday is actually one of my favorite days. It’s the start of a new week and new goals. It’s the day we declare we are going to start exercising, start eating healthy, be more organized, be on time . . . it’s the day we set our goals!! There is no reason why we can’t start on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or any other day for that matter but we are programmed for Monday.
So why not think of Monday’s as a mini New Years Day every week! Don’t you love New Years . . . the optimism, the newness, the belief that anything is possible? Imagine starting every week with that optimism, that belief that you can do anything!
We aren’t thanking Monday like we do Friday (TGIF), we don’t stay out late or sleep in like we do on Saturday or Sunday but a Monday sets the tone for the week and that’s pretty darn cool!
I like spend some time on Monday organizing for the week ahead. Calendared my workouts, appointments and work schedule plus added to that never ending to do list. Bring on the week and let’s celebrate Monday!
