It’s still pretty warm out here in Southern California to start off the new month! Our mornings and evenings have really cooled off but mid-day our temps are still in the high 70’s.
The good news is that means it’s still easy to throw on a dress and be comfortable. I tend to wear dresses in the summer . . . it just seems so much easier to wear a dress in the summer and often they are more comfortable than shorts. You can through on flip flops, sandals or even cute tennis shoes, grab a light sweater if needed and be ready for any occasion. But as it starts to cool off, even just a little I don’t find myself wearing dresses. At this time of year, I struggle with what to wear when I am going off to a brunch or a school event and jeans just don’t seem like the right thing to wear. It’s that fine line between being casual but not too casual.
I was in Old Navy a few weeks ago and fell in love with this dress. I loved the fall colors, the small bell sleeves and of course the dress up/dress down feel of the dress. Plus, the dress is on sale for $30.00 and comes in burgundy, black or a couple other patterns . . . click here to see other options.
I decided to pair the dress with my suede ankle boots. I bought these boots last year at Nordstrom Rack and they are my go-to boots to wear with jeans, leggings and now even a dress! My favorite things about these boots are the color which is super neutral and the reasonable height of the heel.
And if I am meeting a friend for coffee or lunch or have a meeting or even running errands I can opt for flats with this dress! Oh, how I love my gold flats!
