Yes, I am still wearing my white jeans and it’s mid-October but it’s 90 degrees out here in Los Angeles today so I’m going with white! But this blog post is all about belts. So the question is do you wear belts?
The good news is you don’t need a closet full of belts like shoes. A good brown and black belt in your closet and you are pretty much set. It’s just finding the belts that work for you and ones that you love.
I can’t remember the last time I didn’t wear a belt with my pants. Belts are so overlooked, we don’t really think of them as fashion but I wear one almost every day. They serve a purpose of holding up my pants but they also add a great look to an outfit. A good belt is an essential wardrobe item that every woman should have in their closet!
If you ask me, belts are the one accessory that can make an outfit feel finished and perfect!
So how to incorporate belts into your outfits . . .
If Your Blouse is Making You Look Like a Box On Top, Grab a Belt
Satin Henley Shirt || Madewell Perfect Leather Belt || Articles of Society White Jeans || Leopard Flats
Wearing a button-down or flowy blouse can look good untucked, but I like to do the one tuck where you just tuck in the front and leave the back and sides untucked. It gives you more shape and with a cute belt, it looks cute. I often wear this dark brown belt instead of black. It’s one of my favorites!
Belts Make a Tucked-In Tee Look Less Basic
Jeans and tee is a classic combo, but it can look sloppy or plain without any accessories! Tuck your tee into your jeans and add a belt to instantly make the look more interesting. The Point Belt is my most favorite belt of all time! I have had this for years and it’s a bestseller at Lucky Brand. It’s available in cognac or black and gets better with age!
Long Ribbed Sweater || V-Neck T-Shirt || Point Belt || Articles Of Society Skinny Jeans || Medium Transport Tote
Belts are a Sweater’s Best Friend
We all have the cozy sweater we love to throw on. But that tunic sweater that looks great with leggings may look to chunky and big with jeans. Tucking a chunky sweater and adding a belt will keep it from swallowing you up and tucking a fitted sweater and adding a belt creates a slim, vintage look.
Here are some of my other favorite belts. Belt shopping may not be as exciting as jean, dress or shoe shopping but remember a good belt can provide you great support and style!
