Halloween, the World Series and the start of November . . . let the craziness of the next couple of months begin!!
This is the time of year when we can get so busy that we forget to take care of us. Make sure you are scheduling some time to exercise throughout the week. Daily exercise helps keep you healthy, energized, relieves stress and helps balance out the holiday eating. All you need is 30 minutes and trust me that will benefit not just you but your whole family – when we as moms feel good everyone benefits. 🙂
On to Friday favorites . . . today I am keeping it super simple and sharing my 5 favorite pants that I think every woman should have in their closet. Scroll to the bottom to see all of them!
Dark Wash Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans are my number one go-to jean. A dark wash pair is the most classic and versatile style you can have in your closet. They can be dressed up and dressed down, paired with anything, and are great for all occasions. Wear them with blouses, T-shirts, jackets, sweaters, sandals, heels, boots … everything!
Find a pair that fits you well and won’t stretch out. Articles of Society is a favorite of mine for comfort and price at $60 and I also like AG and Paige which I have had for years and really fit well.
I think everyone needs a comfy, baggy pair of boyfriend jeans for the weekend. I love wearing these with just t-shirt or sweater and sneakers. You can still dress them up with heels for a more casual sophisticated look, but typically I wear them with sneakers, ankle boots, or flats. This pair is called the ex-boyfriend by AG and I love that it doesn’t sag in the booty for me and I love the distressed look but as we move further into fall I will be going with ones without holes. 🙂
I love my Articles of Society black jeans!! They are a great jean option without looking like a jean. I love black denim for date night but once again like a dark skinny jean you can dress it up or down.
NON DENIM PANTS
A fun pair of non-denim pants is a must have for your closet. We might always want to wear jeans but it’s a good thing to have more than just jeans in your pants drawer. A pair of well-fitting pixie pants or slacks definitely has its place and fleshes out your wardrobe a bit. They’re great for casual or dressy events. I would recommend choosing a neutral pair like navy or black and then get adventurous with a pattern or color.
I bought this satin pink pair at Old Navy for under $30.00 for my husband’s high school reunion and will be wearing these throughout the holiday season. I am so in love with them!
Black leggings can be those pants you pull on when you come home at the end of the day with a big comfy sweatshirt. They can be dressed up with a silk blouse, blazer, and heels. You can wear them with a long sweater and boots all weekend. Or you can through on your running shoes, long sleeve t-shirt and a puffer jacket or vest and watch your kids soccer or baseball games.
Some final thoughts . . . the key to a great looking pair of pants is the fit. Make sure they fit you well especially in the rear and waist. Luckily mid and high-waist is back so we don’t have to worry about the muffin top. And finally make sure they are comfortable or you won’t want to wear them!
If you own all five of these items, your closet will be well-rounded, versatile, and super re-mixable.
