Happy Friday!! Today I am changing up my Friday favorites and focusing on my favorite footwear . . . sneakers! Sneakers are so fashionable that you can be comfortable and styling! And the options of cuteness are endless – these are not the sneakers we grew up in – ok, a few of them actually are – but the big message is sneakers are no longer just for exercising. It reminds me of workout clothes – you don’t have to be exercising to be wearing activewear. 🙂
So today I give you my favorite sneakers broken down into five categories – running/workout, white, black, slip-on and fun. The best news is there is so much variety at reasonable prices that you can be wearing the cutest of sneakers without breaking your bank.
Okay, let’s start with sneakers for exercise. My motto is all movement is good movement so hopefully, you are moving or moving in the direction of moving. A good running shoe is a must and there are so many running shoes now on the market that are both functional and cute so you can wear them while you are exercising or out and about running errands and hanging out.
If you know me then you know I am a Nike lover. My favorites are the Nike Flyknit Free Runs . . . last Christmas I gave everyone in my family a pair so they could experience the greatness. 🙂 They were on sale right after the holidays and I actually bought 2 pair – one for running and one for pleasure – yup, I love them that much. I know crazy but I am putting a lot of running mileage on my shoes so wanted to keep a pair just for running.
They are super lightweight and the fabric wraps around my foot so it feels almost customized. I find myself wearing these all the time with leggings or boyfriend jeans when I am running errands, or watching a soccer game.
Here are some of my other top running/workout sneakers:
Every woman needs a cute pair of white sneakers in their closet! You can wear them with jeans, shorts, leggings, dresses . . . they look clean, sharp and cute. My choice . . . Stan Smiths (Adidas)! I traveled through Europe in them, they are the best, just size down a full size. 🙂
I also love converse (also size down) and since they are now owned by Nike they have great support which was so needed. Tretorn is another brand that is making a comeback, remember them? OMG, they were my mom’s tennis shoes and I had a pair going up that I thought was so cool.
Last spring I tried on my daughters Vans slip-ons (we wear the same size) and what a game changer! I find I wear my black slip-ons all the time – they are so easy to literally slip on and look great with skinny jeans and leggings.
I also have a lighter color for the warmer weather that I adore wearing with denim (regular or white).
There are so many cute slip-on options in different colors and fabrics – I love the suede ones and I have found Target has some great slip-on sneakers that look like some expensive brands.
I love my Adidas Gazelle black sneakers – I had my eye on them for months. They are similar to white sneakers in that they look great with everything including dresses! They have great support in them so you can comfortably wear them all day but you for sure need to size down. BTW, the Gazelles also come in navy, pink and gray all of which are equally adorable!
And just because I love sneakers . . . these are my new favorites, Rose Gold Nikes and less than $50.00 and they look so cute with jeans, leggings, and sweats and I can’t wait to wear them with white denim (bring on spring!).
There are so many styles and colors out there – have fun and here’s to happy stylish feet! 🙂
