I am sitting on a plane flying home from Texas . . . freezing! Why are airplanes always so cold? I had a summer dress on earlier today and I am so happy I ran into the airport bathroom and changed into leggings and a sweater. It was 90 degrees outside as we exited the Uber and to think I almost thought about not changing! I love how soft and cozy this sweater is but oh how I wish I had a blanket!

So I was sitting on the plane flipping through Entertainment Weekly and it got me thinking about the upcoming fall tv season. We all need a little escapism from reality these days and snuggling up on the sofa or better yet crawling into bed and getting lost in 30 or 60 minutes of a great show is priceless and needed!
Remember when you were a kid and couldn’t wait for the new fall TV season to start after spending the summer months watching reruns? There was no 24-hour news, no cable, Netflix or Amazon. We literally watched during prime time, on an actual tv and we were just lucky if it had a remote. Remember when we had to wait a whole week to watch the next episode of our favorite shows. Oh, the anticipation of waiting!
Now we can binge a whole series in a weekend. We can watch off our laptop or even more amazing off our phone! And the choices!! And it’s just not the quantity but the quality is amazing as well!
So what are you watching these days? TV options are endless today and it’s hard to know what’s worthy of watching!
When I find a good show I feel the need to share it just as I ask others for recommendations. It just makes weeding through all the options a little easier.
Sure I still watch some network shows – I mean who doesn’t love This Is Us?! But Amazon and Netflix both have great original programming!
Amazon’s original TV programming is some of my favorites! Are you an Amazon Prime member? The free 2-day shipping alone is awesome but you also get free streaming of so much great tv and movies plus you can even have access to HBO for an additional small fee . . . bonus!
So in honor of the new Fall TV Season starting up this week, I thought I would share my list of must-see TV!
Man in the High Castle:
One of my favorites. What the world would look like if Germany had won WW II. Amazing and a frightening premise.
Mozart in the Jungle:
A funny look into the NY Philharmonic with a wacky, adorable conductor
Red Oaks: I spent my summers in college working on the golf course of a private country club in Connecticut so can I totally relate to this show! A teenager working at an NJ country club in the 1980’s. Great cast!
A comedy about a couple who had a fling, she got pregnant and they got married. Carrie Fisher plays the mother in law and that alone is worth watching as this was one of her last shows.
The life of Queen Elizabeth and the royal family. Season 1 is the first 10 years of her reign. John Lithgow won an Emmy for his portrayal of Winston Churchill. The whole series is beautiful!
Women wrestlers in the 1980’s. I didn’t want to like it but I ended up loving it.
The Chef’s Table:
Don’t watch hungry! Each episode tells the story of a famous chef.
Master of None:
This to me is a modern take on Seinfeld. Just watch!
This Is Us (NBC):
Siblings, marriage, love, family . . . my favorite show on tv!
Gray’s Anatomy (ABC):
Because every so often there is a show that you will continue to watch no matter what.
Life in Pieces (CBS):
Seeing a family from 4 different views. So relatable and makes me laugh out loud. We need more laughter!
Designated Survivor (ABC):
We can wish Kiefer Sutherland was our President!
Leah Remini, Scientology Aftermath (A&E):
What are your favorite shows? I always love hearing about different and new shows. Share them in the comment section.
