Sundays are for sweats and sweets. I got these French Terry sweats at Old Navy for a steal, literally less than $20.00!! They are soft and lighter weight and perfect for those days you just want to kick back but still look put together.
I am not a big sweet eater so cookies I can easily pass up except homemade chocolate chip cookies. The good news is my two boys do not eat chocolate – I know scandalous but it does keep me from baking my favorite! If I am really craving chocolate chip cookie click here for a healthier version.

I have the urge to bake in the fall and winter and even though we are having hot weather out here in Southern Cal it’s still October which means fall to me! I baked up a batch of Oatmeal Raisin cookies and hoping they last a few days. This recipe isn’t too sweet and if you like raisins feel free to add a little more (I did).
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to375°F. In a large bowl, beat all ingredients except oats, flour, and raisins with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in oats, flour, and raisins.
On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes or until light brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
Enjoy!
