This has been a very long, slow-moving week. Maybe it’s because I had a kid home with the flu and for a couple of those days stayed home since he was running such a high fever. Maybe it’s because I suffered an ankle strain last Friday on my long run and I haven’t been able to run since – each morning I wake up hopeful that today will be the day but not yet. Maybe it’s the cold weather that moved in this week or maybe it’s just one of those weeks. Regardless, it’s Friday and it’s been a while since I did a Friday favorite post so I am excited to bring the last version of my favorite finds for the week.
The Aviator’s Wife
Remember what it was like to slowly browse through a bookstore? Being drawn to a book based on the cover or the description on the back? My husband and I used to extend our date nights by pursing through the aisles of a bookstore and we always found ourselves buying.
Now don’t get me wrong I love Amazon and my kindle but browsing online is just not the same as going to a bookstore. I actually believe this is one of the reason’s I am reading less and combine that with Netflix and the ease of endless good tv shows – reading is on the decline for me!
A couple of weeks ago I saw an FB post from a friend about starting a reading challenge . . . 20 pages a day should equal about 2 books a month. I immediately said I was in, asked for some recommendations and started The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin. It’s the story of Charles and Anne Lindbergh marriage told from Anne Morrow Lindberg’s view. I loved it and it felt great to end my evenings reading as opposed to watching tv.
I am currently reading a Resse Witherspoon bookclub selection – btw, it was news to me that she had a book club – click here for more info. The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo is what I just started, it’s a love story and seems to be a fast read!
Chocolate is always needed but that doesn’t have to mean guilt! Lily’s is stevia-sweetened chocolate means a lot fewer calories with all the yumminess!! OMG, so good and just a little piece at night is all you need to fulfill those sweet cravings.
My favorites are the Creamy Milk Chocolate Crispy Rice and the Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt!
Swing Dress & Striped Shirt
My two favorite clothing finds for spring (so far) are a swing dress and striped long sleeve tee. Both of these items made it on my Springtime Closet Essential list and I am convinced I will actually overwear both of them – ha!
Mozart in the Jungle
I was so happy to see season 4 was up on Amazon Prime Video this week!! I’ve been watching all week and never want it to end! Check it out on Amazon if you haven’t watched it yet – it is so funny and a great binge watch. Now if only Man in the Highcastle would come back!!
Enjoy your weekend and take some time for you and your family! And as always I would to love to hear a favorite or two from you! 🙂
