Four days until Christmas and it’s Friday and it’s been a while since I did a Friday Favorite post but I finished up my shopping (Woohoo!) so let’s talk about some fun things that aren’t shopping/gift related! 🙂
My most favorite part of this season isn’t Christmas Day, it’s actually the week between Christmas and New Years. My husband closes his office for the week, all the kids are home and we can just hang out. It is one of the only weeks during the year that it feels like everyone and everything slows down. Sleep late, wear sweats, binge watch tv shows you’ve been planning to watch all year, go to the movies, read a good book, eat sweets and carbs, play family games, hang out with good friends . . . . all of it sounds awesome! Bring on the holidays and some of my favorites.
TV Shows worth Watching this Holiday season
It is overwhelming how many great tv shows are out there for our viewing pleasure . . . somedays it just feels like there are too many choices. Here are my top favorites worth checking out.

Absolutely my number one pick! We all need more happiness and laughter in our lives these days – great cast, great music, great comedy!!
A Million Little Things
This is a new show on ABC – think the “The Big Chill” for the anxious new century. It’s about friends and suicide and the drama that unfolds. I was hooked from the first episode.
Dirty John was one of the most popular podcasts of 2017 now it’s an amazing tv show on Bravo. It stars Eric Bana as handsome conman John Meehan and Connie Britton as Debra Newell, the Southern California interior designer he seduced, swindled, and strung along—until . . . . SO GOOD.

Carbs are allowed during the holiday season – just make them carbs you love! 🙂 I love coffee and biscotti . . . my favorite recipe is from Smitten Kitchen and I add dried cranberries, check it out here.
Podcast worth listening to this holiday season
This podcast was recommended by some doctor friends. 33 patients, a charming surgeon and a spineless system . . . this is about a medical system that failed its patients. It’s an easy listen – perfect for car or while on a walk or run.
family game worth playing this holiday season
Jackbox Games make lots of fun party games that download onto Playstation, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick or XBox. One of our family’s favorites is Quiplash – you use your phone or tablet (no controllers needed) to answer simple prompts like these:
- Something you’d be surprised to see a donkey do
- A double rainbow doesn’t have gold at the end of it. Instead, it has ______.
- A better name for France
And then you are pitted against other players to see who has the best answer. It’s so so fun!!!
